Eddie Attwood
FOUNDER
|
In 1953, the same year that Sir Edmund Hillary reached the summit of Mount Everest and Elizabeth II was crowned, thirty-three year old Eddie Attwood began selling packaging. The bank funded his new enterprise and a used Commer station wagon became the company vehicle.
If you wanted to visit an Attwoods store back then you would have been heading to one place - the back of Worrall’s, a cycle shop in Anzac Ave, Central Auckland. The local butchers were the first to do business with Eddie, buying greaseproof paper. A loyal customer base soon flourished. |
